Since 2016 Surface Tempo has been offering design and remodeling services to the Orange County community. Surface Tempo has four in-house project managers and we work with several local designers, architects and engineers. Surface Tempo is fully licensed and insured.

Meet Donal Lopez, Owner of Surface Tempo

Donal was born in Guatemala. He came to the USA in 2004 with his mother and brother when he was just 15 years old. Donal spent his teenage years growing up in Tustin. He attended Santiago College where he studied business and design. He started working right after high school to help his mom with bills.He worked at Corner Bakery Cafe for two years and In-N-Out Burger after that.

In 2009 Donal was invited to work for a family friend who owned a local construction business called G+A Flooring in Laguna Niguel. Donal helped out in the back office and with deliveries. Donal caught on quickly and was promoted to project manager and sales. Donal has a good eye for design. He worked for G+A Flooring for about 8 years before starting his own home design and remodeling business, Surface Tempo in 2016 located in Irvine. Donal currently lives in Irvine with his family.

Where did the name Surface Tempo come from? Donal chose this name because there are many surfaces in our homes from flooring to paint. Tempo in music terminology means “time”. While the ability to hold a steady tempo is a vital skill for a musical performer, tempo is changeable We are constantly changing our surroundings and surfaces. Thus Surface Tempo was born.
